Returning our Torah to the Czech Republic -
Be a Part of History

Wednesday, September 13th from 4:00-7:30 pm at PSC

We have hired a sofer (scribe) who is working to repair the scroll currently. He will be flying from his Florida home to PSC with the Olomouc Torah to join us for a community celebration on Wednesday, September 13th. Please join us from 4:00 pm to 7:30 pm as we celebrate the restoration of this treasured Torah, see what the sofer has done and say farewell to this Torah before it makes its way back to its original home. The entire PSC community is invited to join with our Kesher religious school students for these festivities:

  • 4:00 pm to 4:30 pm: Opening presentation
  • 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm: Watch firsthand as the Torah restoration is completed. We will also write letters of Mazal Tov to the Olomouc community.
  • 5:30 pm: We will sing, dance and celebrate the completion of the Torah, reattaching the parchment to the Atzei Hayyim (Torah Polls)
  • 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm: In case you can't make it in the afternoon, come on by after work, by yourself or with your family, and experience the magic of bringing the scroll, our sacred Tradition, back to life. The sofer will be here to meet with you, answer questions, and have you help with the final pieces of preparing the scroll for going home.
