The primary goals of Kesher@Home are to encourage a sense of stability and community among Kesher families; build and deepen relationships among students; and use the rhythm of Jewish time to counter the sense of dislocation from the outer world. All PSC kids in K-12 are invited to participate in Kesher@Home, whether or not they were previously enrolled in Kesher or Kabbalat Torah.
Kesher@Home will consist of a number of different types of offerings.
- Our core program will continue to be on Sunday morning for K-6, Wednesday afternoon for 3rd-7th, and Wednesday evening for 8th-12. Students should plan to attend these live instruction sessions via Zoom.
- Selected projects, family discussion questions, mitzvah opportunities, short videos, and other learning resources will be posted each week. Families are encouraged to engage with these materials based on their own interest and capacity.
- In addition, we will offer “pop-up” stand-alone programs for kids of varying ages, such as story times and art projects, at different times. These are completely optional, as every family’s needs and schedules are very different during these times.
- Because the Kesher@Home program is a response to the Covid-19 pandemic, we plan to continuously evaluate our program and will offer in-person gatherings when and as it is safe to do so. We will communicate any such plans well in advance and will continue to offer remote learning as appropriate and necessary.
We are grateful to Jewish Community Federation and Endowment Fund for providing financial support for Peninsula Sinai Congregation and Kesher@Home.
